I have chosen the following three political themes:

Psychological Ethics in Technology
Woman's Rights
Undoing Racial Inequality


My sketches are reflective of the two of the themes. I have not yet chosen which one will make it to next week, as I will likely play with more than one before I'm done.

Right now the front-runners are the one on Goya's "The Third of November" that I will entitle "what price freedom". The second one is with the Wall Street Bull and Girl Statue themed on Women's Rights.

The third, the statue of liberty, distracted by media, while her people climb up looking for freedom, she's distracted by the screen.

 EDIT: I've re-worked this poster at the request of the professor. Admittedly, I ran out of time and settled for less than I should have. Here is the one I was working on before deciding to go with the original version below. The theme is the same. It is a complex issue to explain simply and it just was not coming to me.  This more reflects my vision for this project. Thank you for the feedback and encouraging me to finish what I started. I tried to use the shapes and the right words to create the idea of the circle generated from unlimited amounts of data, unlimited processing power, and using behavioral psychology to drive behavior. Book Cover Design - Part 1

 This project asks me to re-imagine a recently read book. I have chosen It Is All Right by Isabel M. Hickey. I love this book and have read it many times. It is currently out of print. I was able to obtain a few copies in the early 2000's from Isabel's daughter, Helen, who had continued the company after her mother's death. It is a self-published book and has a leather cover with gold inlay print. Very simple.    In the first sketches, I imagined doing a similar cover, adding color and depth to the gold star on the original. I did not want to change the symbol as it has meaning. The first sketch shows the words representing the meaning of each spike and I also imagined adding the text.
